Vijay Motors Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1998 for the sole distributorship for General Motors for Nepal. VMPL was able to break into what was a Japanese vehicle dominated market at that time and steadily captured a substantial part of the automobile market from 1999 to 2013. The company had 11 models in its stable of products many of which can still be seen on the roads today. The models ranged from the 1000 cc Chevrolet Spark, to the 1200 cc UVA, the 1400 and 1600 CC Aveo, the 1600 cc Optra, the 2.5 Turbo diesel Tavera, the 2.0 liter SUV from Korea – the Captiva and the 2.0 Liter Cruz.
VMPL was known for its personalized customer care and earned a reputation for providing reliable and efficient after sales services to its customers. Vijay Motors had its own 3S facility located in the heart of the city and employed over 80 people in sales, customer care and after – sales. VMPL stopped selling Chevrolet’s in 2013 when GM pulled out of all export markets from Asia eg. Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka.
Under the aegis of VMPL, several other companies were setup for Sustainable, eco-friendly business. BG Nepal is the Sole Distributor for BG Inc. USA, a company that has greening solutions for automobile and motorcycle engines. Another Company Matrix Holdings Pvt. Ltd. was set up later for sustainable eco-friendly social business activities.
VMPL continued with servicing and aftersales support for the Chevrolet’s and Opel’s sold by it from 1998 to 2013 which it continues to do till today.
In 2005 VMPL was awarded the Sole Distributorship for Subaru for Nepal and started with the sales of the 2.5 L. MT Subaru Forester. In 2013 the 2.0 L XV was introduced into the market which was an SUV based on the Impreza platform. In March 2021, the 2.5 Outback was introduced into Nepal.
From its inception, in 1998, Vijay Motors has partnered with the Blood bank to support in blood donation campaigns and providing anyone who needed blood with donors, which continues even today. Likewise, we believe that empowered women can empower their family and the entire nation. Therefore, educating girls became a priority and we have been sponsoring the education of underprivileged girls since 2006. Furthermore, we have been helping other institutions and donating towards social causes whenever we can.
Vijay Motors Pvt. Ltd, Matrix Holdings and BG Nepal Pvt. Ltd. belong to a larger group of companies established over 55 years ago and includes an organic certified tea estate, bought leaf tea factories, agro industries, composting plant, feed industry, poultry, fishery and farming among other things. However, each company operates as a separate profit center and is independently operated and managed by professionals.
Your Personal Experience
VMPL got the Sole Distributorship for Subaru for Nepal in late 2004 and is still running that Dealership and an after-sales service center.
VMPL’s Service facilities are located at Banasthali and have all equipment and SST tools as required for the repair of Subaru and Chevrolet vehicles. VMPL’s mechanics and Service advisors have been trained by Japan and GM.
MISSION STATEMENT
FUTUREWe will continue to introduce products from the Subaru brand as and when Japan gives them to us for Nepal. Subaru Corporation have been working cars for the future as well and their Hybrids have been on the roads since the last 15 years or more. We too at VMPL hope to bring in the Hybrids as an eco- friendly option and when Subaru is ready with and EV that will be offered in Nepal as well.
